Navy Captain Maude E. Young, who has been selected to the rank of rear admiral (lower half), is being assigned as program executive offi cer for space systems/ commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command Space Field Activity/director, Communications Directorate, National Reconnaissance Offi ce, Washington, D.C. Young is currently serving as major program manager for National Reconnaissance Offi ce and National Remote Sensing System, Washington, D.C.

Air Force Lieutenant General William L. Shelton has been nominated for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as chief, warfi ghting integration and chief, information offi cer, Offi ce of the Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Shelton is currently serving as commander, Fourteenth Air Force (Air Forces Strategic- Space) Air Force Space Command, and commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.

Colonel Scott D. West, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, commander, 613th Air and Space Operations Center, Pacifi c Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, has been assigned to chief of staff, Joint Warfare Centre, Supreme Allied Command for Transformation, Stavanger, Norway.

AeroAstro, a business unit of Radyne Corporation, announced it has named Paul Lithgow as its chief operating offi cer. Lithgow will oversee AeroAstro’s upper management team and is responsible for successfully executing current programs and capturing new business while implementing new company initiatives and corporate strategies. He also serves as the primary interface between Radyne and AeroAstro. Integral Systems, Inc. has announced that John B. Higginbotham has assumed the role of chief executive offi cer and joined the board of directors. Higginbotham currently serves on the board of directors of ProtoStar, Ltd. He was formerly a director of Analytical Graphics, Inc., Novariant, Inc., and Imaginova, Inc. Prior to SpaceVest, Higginbotham was a co-founder of Intec (now AXASpace).
